Don't wait for October (let alone November!)
Check your voter registration status through My Voter Page.
You found your registration. Now check it.
Make sure your status says Active, your name is correct, and your residential address is where you currently live. Your voter-registration address does not have to match the address printed on your driver's license.
If you vote by mail, also check your mailing/absentee information.
Something wrong or not registered? Fix it now.
Complete a Montana Voter Registration Application and mark Name Change, Address Change, Signature Update, or Other.
Print it, sign it by hand, and return it to Gallatin County Elections. Before 5 p.m. October 5, changes can be submitted through the regular registration process.
Beginning October 6, changes must be made in person at Gallatin County Elections, 311 W. Main St., Room 210, Bozeman.

Why check more than once?
Registration records can change for ordinary reasons: you moved, changed your name, updated your information, election mail was returned as undeliverable, or an administrative or data-entry error occurred.
There are also processes under state and federal law for maintaining voter rolls and challenging voter eligibility, and in 2026, there’s a lot of pre-election political maneuvering that could lead to changes to voter rolls.
Most voters will check and find that everything is exactly as it should be. The point isn’t to expect a problem; it’s to catch one while there’s still plenty of time to solve it.
Think of it like checking a flight reservation: check when you make your plan, check again before you leave, and confirm the details when it matters.
We recommend:
Check now: Is my registration active and accurate?
Check again before ballots are mailed / early voting begins: Is everything still correct, and were any changes I submitted processed?
Check shortly before you vote: Am I still active, is my address correct, and do I know where/how I’m voting?
And for mail voters, there’s an additional reason to return to My Voter Portal after ballots go out: you can check your ballot status, not merely your registration.
